Biography: Born and raised in Sapporo City, Kisame was subject as a child to the traditional weight of hierarchy in Japanese families, not that it ever had much of an everlasting effect upon him. Though his relationship with his parents was a healthy one, and though he respected the both of them a great deal while growing up, Kisame never shared their more prominent interests, and due to that, as he grew older that stable relationship simply grew to be nonexistent, as did the majority of family interactions. He was, after all, not the kind of person who enjoyed a stagnant and useless lifestyle, and he would not remain long with what benefited him little or not at all.

He did well enough in school to pass the grades he was in when he could be bothered to show up to his classes, but he never seemed to excel, never took an interest in anything besides sports and perhaps some minor bullying, the latter being more of a game to pass the time in the wee hours before and after school, occasionally during the lunch hour period. At least... that was until he met Itachi. From then on it seemed he had something more worth while to keep him from getting kicked out of schools, someone he looked up to (or down to if you go by size and age difference), and someone he respected that was more like himself than most other people seemed to be. Two strong beings with a natural born respect, if casual indifference to the majority of the world that didn’t meat their higher expectations, their only major differences seemed to lie in Kisame’s overt outspoken (mostly still polite) behavior and Itachi’s more introverted nature, but it didn’t stop them from becoming close companions.

By the time Kisame hit high school, though sporadically staying with his friends more often than he ever stayed at home, he had become quite streetwise; he enjoyed swimming very much, and took part in most of the other sports offered at the school that he could, with Itachi’s help being able to keep up his grade average so he could continue to partake in those activities for a time, but for the brawny male nothing ever seemed to satisfy as much as good old fashioned hard labor and a hand-to-hand brawl in the street between two evenly matched opponents... or even a few against one.

It was probably due to his increasing lack of interest or need in furthering his education that Kisame dropped out of school when he turned eighteen, and with it the majority of participation in such activities was cut off. Moving out of his house after getting a job, he started to live on his own, and though he has kept in some contact with the friends he made while in school over the years, the only one he spoke to regularly was Itachi.
